I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

    Yes this is needed!

So many times I just need to put a quick label or two on a snip of a diagram.  Currently I have to write it out with the mouse (My mouse writing is not as clear or quick as a quick text box),  or as someone mentioned copy and paste it into yet another program to write on the snip.

    Thanks!

I understand this was likely written more for a mobile device with the touch features, but like many others I use this tool for my network admin duties. The option to add typed text would make it a lot easier for me to provide both instructions and readable id markers when taking snips. As is this is a good tool that has still not fully matured yet. I look forward to seeing this being flushed out with full text ability. As it is I like this program, I often have to take snips and add them to emails or word documents, which just bloat the message when I could just send a pic with text on it. That being said, yes I could open up paint or some such and add the text that way but it is an unnecessary extra step.

    example:

How much easier would this be to read if the text in this snip was typed instead of done with a mouse:

You HAVE to add a text box feature here.

For some reason, JING isn't working properly when I have a shared desktop so I discovered this and began using it.

It can be so much better.

    tks,

    M
