I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

We started this feature request thread looooong ago for adding typed text to the Snip Tool and now Snip & Sketch' when there was no 'Feedback Hub'.

This feature request is VERY overdue (AND SIMPLE) and now instead of offering to help, a Microsoft moderator has finally answered ... but instead of recognizing that Microsoft created these community portals for the purpose they are advertised for ... some newbie Microsoft employee tells us to go post it somewhere else on yet another Microsoft 'communication tool' ... where requests may also go in to a dark closet of silence and ignored .... or we will also hear the tired Microsoft corporate line of "That is good feedback, we'll forward that to the team" will be replayed over and over.

Sorry for the frustration, but we did what we were asked to do - by posting it to the Microsoft Community board ... with multiple agreements from other users - and instead of interacting and asking what we need (for a simple feature, as we see it) ... we are ignored for over 2 years and then sent to yet another Microsoft communication tool.

*IF* Snip & Sketch WAS a stand alone paid app - this would be an interactive exchange ... but it's one app of thousands from Redmond and one of the frustrations why Big Tech is seen as 'Big Tech' by those that are frustrated with 'Big Tech'.

Adding a text box in a screenshot is a necessity....I can not imagine why this is not here.  Please add this feature.

Agree with other contributors, the inability to add simple text box comments, arrow or geometric highlights is a real pain in what is otherwise a very useful tool.

Hopefully Microsoft will add this urgently to avoid users drifting off to better 3rd party apps.
