Snip & Sketch add a text box

I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

    Opening a 3rd program to add text or simple arrows defeats the purpose.  It also 'breaks' the concept of Clipboard History. The simple lines and highlighting are already there. These users here are just asking for simple label capabilities to increase their productivity ... if we wanted to open MSPaint - we should just go back to Full Screen Print and editing in Paint and the cropping and adding text ... and and and and  :-)

    I believe our frustration is NOT that there are other (extra step) ways of doing this, but that Microsoft offers these spaces to make requests for features ... and they are not here interacting ... at all.

    This Thread / question has been running for a couple of years now. Microsoft have taken little or zero action on it. Ive resigned myself to the fact that this is never going to happen.  It would have been way better if they had of posted a reply to it but simply it has fallen on deaf ears! I went ahead and purchased Snag-it which has given me far more capability in this area. Thumbs down on this one to Microsoft.

    (Snag-It is great! Used it years ago.) My workflow / workaround for this glaring omission:

    • Shift+Win+S = capture a region
    • Click the notification to open region in Snip & Sketch ButNoTextOrShapes)
    • Click ellipses (3 dots) > Open With > choose Paint
    • In Paint I add text and/or shape, then copy and/or save
    • Close Paint
    • Close S&S

    It seems to me that if one can add highlighting and "touch writing" then it was an oversight to not also provide text and shapes (a la Paint). But hey, I'm just a user :)

    Yes - regarding the simple feature request of being able to add text or arrows to Snip & Sketch images in Windows 10 ... I think we are just banging our keyboards in no one. :-(

    It makes no sense for there not to be a way to just type some text on a snipping.  For example, you may want to snip a screen shot, circle or draw a box around some part of it, and then, add some notes.

    What! Crazy right? Imagine wanting to add some notes to a screenshot? I know it seems far-fetched.

    In Mac OS, it is trivial to take a screenshot and quickly type some notes on it, so it's not like imagining such a thing is unheard of.

    This feature needs to be added to Snip & Sketch.  Even if you have to change the name of the app to Snip, Sketch & Type.
