I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

Typical useless Microsoft Agent reply. April 2021, still no text tool. I had more complicated assignments back in junior college CS-101. You guys want to open source your code so we could fix it for you?

I am UTTERLY DUMBFOUNDED you left out some basic ways to mark up a snip with typing -- it's a braindead-obvious thing that should have been there ALL ALONG.  You say this is for marking up so ... why is it not there?  Not everybody is using some touchscreen device where they will scribble hand-written notes.  (Shakes his head and leaves the room.)

Yes!  Please add this simple feature!  All of my Snip & Sketch notes look like a child drew all over them.  I would like to use this tool in a professional setting, but it's currently kind of embarrassing to share annotations created with this tool.  The annotation options available in the "Preview" tool on Apple devices is a nice example of the basic features that would be helpful to add to Snip & Sketch. I switched from Mac to Windows recently, but Snip & Sketch is annoying enough that it makes me want to switch back!
