I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

    @nikhar_k

    It's been two years - being able to add text is a basic feature and really prevents this tool from being useful

    Not sure if mentioned... but yeah sign me up as lazy to go over 205 replies for something was at least there in some form!

    AND MUST BE ADDED THERE NOW.

    The snipping tool has a direct link to Paint 3D which has the EXTREMELY VALUABLE TEXT BOX ability!

    Microsoft... .... you ... I am guessing "know" how to do this... ...

    My "dream" is to use windows+shift+S take the "piece of my monitors" I want and then click the notification INTO PAINT 3D.... and even this seems... no where to be found...

    Sounds like I should apply for a job at Microsoft.... I am lazy too :)

    I don't think they have one. Just go back to using a Windows 3.1 system. To Snip in Sketch in Windows 3.1 you just have to press Print Screen and paste it into Paintbrush.exe. Paintbrush has a text box tool. It is amazing.

    I don't think anyone is paying attention however.
