I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

It is frustrating that Snip and Sketch was forced onto users without being a finished product, or even somewhat as useful as the former Snipping tool that was removed.

Many people rely on having the ability to add in arrows, type text onto a screen grab, and multiple other functions and needs during a work day.

Clearly this is a great tools  I am a programmer and use it extensively for keeping notes and observations.  Add the text box feature is a must and needs to get on the list of the next release.  It just does not make sense not to add it.  All of the workarounds are nice but time consuming verses adding text on the snip.

to annotate a text box would be most handy; much better than writing with a mouse

Considering that "SnipIt" is your biggest competitor with this type of program, and that they do have that capability, I'm kind of surprised that "Snip & Sketch" doesn't have the option to add any kind of text.  Unless there's a patent that's keeping you from adding it then "let's get it done".
