HI there,

I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.

It is not listed on the Device Manager list.

Thanks for the help.

    Hi

I have the same problem.  Medion Erazer P7651-MD61016, MSN30024212. Originally went in to Device Manager after the webcam wouldn't work in Skype or Camera.  When I clicked on the webcam icon, the cam appeared as shaded.  I uninstalled the device, and then ran a scan for hardware changes, assuming it would be picked up.  But no luck.  I have tried the legacy hardware, but no cam model is appearing in the list, and I don't have the discs (the other option they give).  If I knew what kind of webcam it was I suppose I could try online for the drivers.

    Any help appreciated.

    Regards

    Thomas

P.S. My USB 3 seems to be malfunctioning now too! Every device I connect comes up with a "USB device not recognised"....

Yep still trying to figure this one out, 2 suggestions though 1 use the default admin account method I show above. 2 uninstall the latest feature update to see if its fine till windows team brings out a successful update to this, they already have it in hand., let me know how you get on, if I find a work around I let you know. thanks

    Hi again

No luck with any of the suggestions I'm afraid.  I used the default admin account (eventually got it set up as the "Local Users and Groups" didn't appear for me either, but did a search and found another way) and also uninstalled the latest feature update (lot of issues with that as well, including the Start menu not working at one stage).  I eventually gave up and just re-installed the update(s).

I suppose I will just have to wait for the next update, which hopefully will fix my cam and usb 3 issue.  Disappointing as I never had an issue before and was very happy with Windows 10 and my laptop (new since last December).

Thank you again so much for all the assistance.  Very much appreciated.

Hey There Flynn, yeah its becoming a common issue these past few weeks. Windows 10 has been very stable considering since It was 1st released, yet I know the team are working across the board to get this sorted.  i Am still constantly trying to ascertain I method that will pull it back till we have the patch up date. Even A rollback or reset is not fixing the issue now. ..I got the DVD drive back on mine and the sound but not avail with the camera and its the official drivers. I am about to do a reboot and see if Disabling driver sig enforce allows it. I wouldn't recommend this as a resolve, yet I am trying due to the amount of Blue Screen Debug USB Stopcode Errors I have had trying to work around. I will let you know how it goes. may even run a dos startup and install the drivers to see if that picks them up. For now though I am baffled.
