Camera / Webcam not on device manager list - Windows 10

where is the camera privacy switch?

On the right side of your computer about midway down you can also see from looking at the back of the computer

I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.

It is not listed on the Device Manager list.

I tried to get the Device Manager part done - but when I open it from the Action button I don't have the legacy hardware option listed - just "help".

Firstly, thank you for your help. I have tried this but during the 6th part of the 6 fast checks it crashed and I had to start over. I'm going to try a second time now.

However, I don't see anything that indicates that it is checking to see if the camera is operational? Where can I find that specifically?

There is a SIMPLE switch that can turn on/off the camera on your right side of the laptop. If that switch is off, any software will not detect it! I was troubleshooting through device manager list and i couldn't find it listed as well but Please look into the physical switch on the side of the laptop before you do anything else@@
