Camera / Webcam not on device manager list - Windows 10

HI there,

I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.

It is not listed on the Device Manager list.

    I have this issue on an Asus Zenbook UX362FA**.**

    The first machine I purchased must have had updates installed, as there was no camera available when I first set the computer up.

    A replacement machine had the camera working (I checked before I left the shop) , however it went away when I ran Windows Update.

    No device listed, no drivers available from Asus. I reinstalled the OS to factory defaults, and camera came back, working fine. I have now installed the Windows Update Blocker to prevent the camera from disappearing again, and having to reset my entire PC, including software and personal files. No Updates are installed.

    I would like to know when it will be safe to turn on Windows Updates again.

    I had the same issue - webcam disappeared from Device List, along with all the other issues.

    An update never arrived to fix this issue, so I ended up sending my laptop back to the manufacturer who ended up putting in a new webcam (and motherboard, as everything is integrated I was told).  I think it was just easier for them to do this than to try and figure out what the update had originally done.

    Hola,

    Tengo una HP Envy con Windows 10 y parece que no puedo hacer que mi cámara web / cámara funcione.

    No aparece en la lista del Administrador de dispositivos.

    Make sure that the Camera Privacy Switch that can be found on the right hand side of your laptop is not on. I was facing the same problem. This resolved it.
