Unfortunately I never got the cam to work again either or found the driver....see the other posts for what I ended up having to do....now back on the laptop and so far all going well. It was definitely a faulty update that was never fixed...
Camera / Webcam not on device manager list - Windows 10
HI there,
I have an HP Envy with Windows 10 and can't seem to get my webcam / camera to work.
It is not listed on the Device Manager list.
Thanks for the help.

2020-03-22T20:45:43+00:00 I performed the items listed in the first reply post and now the camera is completely gone and not in the hidden device list either. That was definitely not helpful for me. How can i find the correct driver? I have an HP Envy x360.

2020-03-19T17:46:13+00:00 This is absolutely ridiculous! I just got off a chat with Microsoft which took me through several diagnostics, only to come to the conclusion that Windows has been corrupted and must be re-installed, which will wipe everything off my laptop! I can't do that right now! This was poor planning, Microsoft!

2020-03-17T14:31:55+00:00 Just to update. I had to return my laptop to the manufacturer, who ended up putting a new motherboard in as they said everything was integrated (webcam/usb/etc.). They had tried to get the offending update removed originally, but I think it was just easier for them to replace everything than waste time!
Had to reinstall everything which takes forever (and I'm still doing so!!).
Very disappointed with Windows and Microsoft.
