The Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 KB4517211 is causing the printer spooler service to stop and the installed printer is no longer recognized. It is an HP Officejet Pro 8210 printer. When I go into services.msc I can start the spooler and my printer then reappears but as soon as I try to print the spooler service stops. If I uninstall update KB4517211, my printer again works.
Secondary Concern: I have temporarily halted windows updates to avoid KB4517211 from again downloading. How to I stop this update from installing permanently since I will have to resume updates at some juncture.

I found that we had to change drivers for many of our newer HP Printers from the v4 version of the printer's driver to the v3 driver. Then all worked properly. However, we were unable to just swap drivers. We had to delete the print queue and rebuild it on our network. Now all users can print properly since the latest 1903 update.
Microsoft has just released a new security update for 1903 today 10/8 - KB4517389 (build 18362.418)
let's see if Microsoft got it right this time with KB4517389 since their previous 3 updates for 1903 have been very problematic for some users and causing "more pain" as this ZDNet article pointed out yesterday.
same problem at work - no printer is printing, obviosly V4, older printer seems not to be affected. hope for urgent solution!

But not on My PC envy.
Tried to delete the printer and reinstall it again
And now I have alway the same error: No driver found!!!
I'm becoming crazy!!!
This is not only HP printers and windows 10 we are Lexmark and windows 7 and like you we are pulling hairs out!!
