I'm sorry Gary but I replied before reading at that link since I thought you were saying that the WDRT would replace the Windows 10 Mobile OS and leave everything else. I found out that I was wrong when I read at that link to learn that it basically resets
the phone to how it would be if you bought it new today with the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS it can have.
So, everything else would be gone. How is that not the same as what they call a Hard Reset? Is it that a Hard Reset only sets it back to the phone's original OS, be it Windows 8 Mobile or an old Windows 10 Mobile?
The link at that WDRT page titled "Back up your Windows 10 Mobile device" doesn't seem to be accurate from what I see and that scares me.
The 1st one, "To back up settings" must be what is putting that backup thing on OneDrive that I'd mentioned seeing earlier that got me to slide doing daily backups on the previous page to OFF on 8/24 so it would keep my APPs, Settings & such that it said
were last backed up on 8/22 since I think that was the day before this madness started.
Would you say that I should slide it back ON since that thing I see on OneDrive isn't a Restore Point like my PCs have?
The 2nd one on that list, "To back up your text messages", there is no "Sync messages between devices" to turn on.
On the 3rd (last) one, "For photos and videos, go to OneDrive > Menu > Settings > Camera Upload, and then turn on auto-upload. From now on ...".
But that doesn't save your current data so I don't even understand why it's mentioned here. At the point somebody is reading that, they're getting ready to wipe everything out so it makes no sense to tell them now what they should have been doing. I've had
that turned OFF for quite awhile, since I don't want to pay Microsoft for OneDrive storage syncing betwen my PCs and my phone. I've got too many Photos. I've got my own free ways of backing up my stuff.
