2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

Oh, this is an old laptop, my battery broke 2 years ago. Right now I don't use a battery, I plug my laptop directly to the power input.

Take out the Battery of your Laptop and plug it back without battery, change the sleep setting to "never" on both option for screen and Power turnoff. will be OK if battery is a problem for that. i Experiment with DELL Vastro 3550.

Mine also did an update today and restarted and I put a new replacement battery in.  I hate that when I do two things at once.  Anyway I noticed mine strangely locking twice.  So I went to the Power settings and I did see where it says to go to Sleep in 2 hours when plugged in.  (Most of the time I use my laptop plugged in and rarely unplugged).  So I changed that sleep setting to Never plugged in.  And it says to go to Sleep in 30 minutes on Battery.  I don't believe those were my settings prior to the update.  I made it Never as well.  I only made Screen go to sleep after 30 minutes on battery.  Everything else never.  If it does it again, I will put my old battery back in and see what happens.  If it does it with the old battery and my new power settings, then I know the update is glitchy and I will roll it back.  I use this laptop everyday so I will know soon what's going on.
