2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

Same problem I had.       Try disabling all Power Saving features and options including Advanced options.

Problem disappeared for me after doing so.   Been too lazy to re-enable one by one to determine when/if the problem would return.

I have had the same issues with "locking" of my laptop. I have a dell. After a TON of research (I am a regular computer person, NOT TECH or even able to understand many of the help posts) but I believe I found the answer! There is a driver update for the display or graphics card that will ONLY INSTALL IF YOU HAVE 10% BATTERY CHARGE AVAILABLE. In my case, my battery doesnt charge (non- dell charger issue) so I am at 0% or I am plugged in with battery removed. This is the only thing unchecked and unupdated on my computer so I will have to get a new battery/charger and then run updates and I believe this will be the fix. BATTERY PROBLEMS...go figure

I am using a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-1 and my computer shows the locking screen every hour or so. I lost the original charger, so I am using a 100W charger with an HP tip. My computer is constantly at 0%. Should I remove the battery or get a new charger?
