2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

I have this also. Message looked like what the OP made & posted. I am a Wndows and MacOS tech, this laptop is (or was) running ver 1909.  Displayed that “locking” screen and powered off.

Hello.  Did you find a fix?  I noticed you are using a laptop.  Do you keep the lid closed and use an external monitor?  I installed the windows 10 update, had issues, and then rolled it back.  Afterwards, my laptop was having the same issue "locking" and then hibernating which would require me to power on the laptop.  After about 6 times today, I inadvertently left the lid open, which I never do, but when I went to close it I immediately saw "locking" and then it hibernated.  I went to the power settings and noticed that the setting for closing the lid was set to hibernate.  I have always set this setting to do nothing because I use an external monitor for work.  Apparently, when the update was done the setting for what to do when the lid closed changed and I was unaware.  The setting didn't change back when I rolled back to the previous version.  I made the change to "do nothing" and so far so good.  I can't believe I didn't seek out that setting before which would have avoided a lot of frustration.  Hope this helps.

I had thesame problem. I unplugged my wifi power and phone thing for 10 min. Then went to settings lokked at updates. Microsoft had an update that had not automatically updated. So I updated that. No more problem. I think bug in wifi or microsoft fixed this problem with the update that did not automatically update. I hope this fixes your problem.
