Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems
Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

I agree with most of the replies, but for the person with a PC and not a phone or laptop but just a camera it has worked for me. Next I'll try my Tracfone phone and try to up load pic off it.

Ok, ok, ok. Hans is right. Just tried to download from my Android to my PC and while the pictures come up on the screen as soon as I pick to download ALL it crashes.
Seems to me if you can disable the app then can't you add another photo app that would work?

2020-05-07T20:20:30+00:00 I know I'm beating a dead horse here but I've found something definitive here. The MS app crashes only when using a PHONE. When I use a Camera ONLY, such as my fairly new Olympus CAMERA or my much older Fujifilm finepix CAMERA it works fine.
If this clue might help some of you computer geniuses out there then great.

2020-05-07T20:33:42+00:00 Decided to sod the Photo app and use the Import function in windows explore and it worked after a few tweeks with the iphone settings!
For anyone who would like to know. Go to Settings > Photos > scroll to bottom and change Transfer to PC to “Keep Originals”
then plug into computer, find iphone, right click- import photos and boom! Done!!
Super happy now! Sod you photos app! Hope this helps someone out
