The solution on this website regarding change of the photo folder properties solved the issue for me: https://thegeekpage.com/fix-photos-app-on-iphone-is-freezing-upon-importing-photos-from-windows-10/
Thanks, but which one? All those except perhaps the taking ownership of the Pictures folder are already mentioned here and mostly not worked.
For me Fix-4 Take ownership of Picture folder worked.
TURN OFF DATA & WIFI THEN PROCEED WITH TRANSFER FROM IPHONE TO PC. Your welcome
I tried this 4 times. Turned off Data, WIFI, and Bluetooth to no avail. I restarted phone and laptop and still nothing... I WISH this worked. I have tried every solution on this string and still nothing.
I spoke to Microsoft again and they keep saying it's a known issue, but they do not want to acknowledge this thread (which I've showed them when remotely logged in). At this point they are saying it's been escalated to a Tech 3. Keep you posted here.
Thank you for the solution on Fix 4! It FINALLY SOLVED MY ISSUE when I also had the same frustrations all of the previous community messages faced when uploading precious pictures to my New Windows 10! I've actually been trying to upload since December 2019 and gave up until my iPhone in which I've recently updated (hoping to solve the issue) was practically running out of storage due to the thousands of photos and videos I couldn't upload!
I tried many of the things suggested ealier on, and today, April 2, I slid down through all of the pages of these comments for the first time--I had no idea I was not alone in this frustration--nonetheless, I move to page 27 where I found MvpDraftPick who I wish to say THANK YOU for sharing your expertise! I usually leave the technical stuff to my husband, but he pretty much gave up last January! But, you made it so easy to follow your directions! Thank you for making those steps easier! But I can't figure out why I had to add my name for permission and control when my name was already imbedded with the same permission and control. But for what ever reason, it worked, so I'm not complaining!
Finally, I did turn my iPhone screen to NEVER and turned off the wifi (Like someone else had mentioned), so that appeared to possibly help the situation. So, if you, like me, have been stuck with this frustration for 4 months, please give "Fix-4" above after clicking on the link he gave you above! One more thing, when I went to Fix 4, it talked about trying to download photos from PC to phone, but if you keep scrolling down, you'll see the fix for the opposite!
Don't give up! But it sure would be nice if we didn't have to fix these issues on our own! You would think that computer software/hard drive developers would have fixed these issues by now!
Hope this helps them work harder and smarter! It's now 4/3/20 1:20am, but had to add my 2 cents for what it's worth and to thank the previous person who posted on March 23rd.
