Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

Frustrated as none of the solutions I have tried so far are working and clearly this is a known problem. I was originally getting messages that my device is not responding. Now I get a message something went wrong with an option to retry. I cannot copy 10 photos at a time, as I still get error messages. I am even unable to copy photos in explorer now, which was my previous work around. Fortunately I am backed up to Google photos and Amazon photos but I would like a local copy on my computer or external hard drive.

Yes, please fix this immediately, Its an issue since a very long time.

We would like to use Windows 10 with iPhone and vice versa.

The Photo app was an easy method also for people who are not so skilled in using computers  who need to backup their pictures from the mobile somehow from time to time.

Its a real pity that simple foto synchronisation is not working anymore.

for me the only option that works is the hack on the iphone (keep originals), together with the Explorer Sync directly in the  windows explorer.

so if the issue started with an iphone update, it will be time to stick your heads together with the Apple DEVs I guess?

    THANK YOU !

This thread needs to be flagged to Microsoft Management and the problem needs to be addressed once and for all. The issue is not an iPhone bug, because my phone works well when plugged into commercial printers to print photos. I'm also going to test if my old Windows 7 laptop can accept the data transfer too, I suspect it will.

It's a Windows 10 issue, and it's embarrassing as heck and needs to be fixed urgently.

I had the same freezing problem with the Photos App.  Using the same iPhone, same photos, same cable,

Windows 10 Pro on IBM thinkpad FREEZES

    but

Windows 10 Enterprise on Dell latitude WORKS

Any thoughts why this would be true???
