Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

Zacks comment that right clicking the iPhone in Windows Explorer and importing from there works for me. It imports all photos rather than just new but at least it works.
Separately, I did a Repair on Microsoft Photos as suggested elsewhere in this thread, and that worked too. It no longer hangs up and I can import only those photos that I select.
Win10 (all latest updates installed) and iPhone 7+ running IOS 13.3 here.

Thank you so very much. This gave me the opportunity to import some photos. After the import screen, I was able to go to the next screen and it had grouped my photos by date and time. I could then select which group I wanted to import.
Too bad we (well, actually you guys that know what you are doing ) still have to make up our own methods to import photos.
Please fix this Microsoft !!!!!
In fact, we have many ways to transfer photos from iPhone, and iTunes is the free tool to backup iPhone photos. If we want to export photos to iCloud, we should pay for it to make sure iCloud has enough space to store iPhone photos. But actually, the quickest way to export iPhone photos is Eelphone iPhone Transfer, export photos from iPhone to MAC/Windows, and it's the tool to manage iPhone data on computer.

I tried many suggestions given in the thread and none worked for me. Someone suggested Google Photos so I went with that then downloaded to my laptop and moved them to the pictures folder.
I tried once more just to see (like, now that I've got it, it'll probable work! but no, it still freezes) and when I opened the window I noticed that they show up in the Photos app as if I had imported them, all sorted by date. It confused me for a second to see them there.
I thought I'd share since it works as another workaround to get all my pictures where I want them. Also better in a way, since now they're backed up in Google Photos.
