Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

Please find a fix to this problem. I have tried all "fixes" mentioned above on four different computers with 3 separate phones and flashdrives but havent had successful imports. I have been trying to import pictures for forever now.

I have tried numerous things and nothing works, BUT today I was able to import my pictures into Photoshop Bridge. It's the ABSOLUTE only thing that has worked after days of trying everything.

Mine started when i went to IOS13 but at the same time microsoft brought out another update, so one of them broke it!

I did find that completely removing the photos app and re-installing worked once but then went back to freezing. I have other computers here that have never had my phone connected and tried them, laptop hung exactly the same and the other PC actually worked.

Glad to see it's not just me.

    Using a shared onedrive now!

Thanks for not solving this since September... I just tried this on Windows because it was the recommended way from apple. Now i do it on my linux maschines. MS and Windows is still a waste of time. Even a opensource community of a small product is solving problems faster...

Just wanted to add that it's not just a problem with iPhones. This is happening with our phone transfers as well, and we use Moto G6 android phones. The Windows photo app used to work fine, then stopped recognizing what photos had already been transferred, and now simply hangs after a minute.
