Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Since you reset the Phone, next let's try resetting the Photos app. But first try these specific fixes for iPhone photo import:

To try to fix Photos app Reset and Repair Photos app at Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Photos app > Advanced Options. Your pictures will be safe in the User Pictures folder.

If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...

If nothing else helps you can try a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing it up to the latest version 1903 which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... There are improvements in Photos app in Version 1903 so I would do this without hesitation.

I'm so sorry for the late response, I've been incredibly busy with school so I had just now tried your suggestions. I regret to inform you that none of them worked. I had re-installed iTunes to get the Apple Mobile Device service that I had not had before but that didn't help. I just updated windows a couple minutes ago and to no avail. I've reset my iPhone again and my computer for good measure and nothing. I changed USB ports multiple times. I did everything you suggested above, but my problem still prevails. 

I had attempted to move away from the photos app and instead try to retrieve the photos and videos from my apple device driver under "This PC." I finally saw my photos and videos, but upon attempting to open them, I was presented with this error.

"Can't play. Please try again. If the problem continues, visit https://support.microsoft.com to check for guidance. 0x80070141"

Even though my photos and videos are either JPEG, PNG, MOV or CR2 files, Windows refuses to open them. Now I'm just stuck.

Again, sorry for the late response. I appreciate you taking the time to read my question in September.

I have the same question also. When uploading pics from my phone to computer it freezes.  Can someone help with this.

Is your computer on Windows 10? I just got a new computer and can't upload my pics either.  The screen freezes after it finds the photos.
