Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

    I cant get it to work correctly. I believe it is a windows 10 problem as it was Ok until it updated about 6 months ago

    I tried the whole adavnced options and now my photo app doesnt work at all. When i try opening old photos it wont let me either.

    I do that but it doesn’t work, that is why I’m wanting an answer to how to get it to stop freezing

    I have figured it out!!!! make sure that your computer and whatever you're uploading from is both connect to the Wi-Fi. When you connect your device open the photos app and then hit import "do not let it automatically import"as  you plug in your device. 💜
