Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems
Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

2020-02-22T18:43:34+00:00 Adding my frustration to the cacophony of complaints about this locking up and not working. For me this started when I began an import. Then realized i needed to change the destination drive so i cancelled. It locked up there, I gave it a week to try and figure out whatever it was doing and eventually ended the task from task manager 8 days later. From then on it never gets past the picture search screen others have posted. I can no longer import from any device using the App. They all lock up, 3 Iphone, 2 Androids, a couple of Disk Camera's, GoPro, Hard drives, nothing works.

2020-02-18T23:27:46+00:00 Last week, I saw a Youtube video that showed something interesting..
Microsoft [Project Silica] is their breakthrough new way of storing information on glass..
A technical achievement capable of storage shelf life of a claimed thousand years..
Yet here we all are, in this thread, pretty much begging Microsoft to get off their ****
and help to fix an error/issue of theirs that is obviously effecting a large amount of users..
Huh.. 🤦♂️
I've had to resort to e-mailing photos from my phone to one of my e-mail addresses,
in which I can then open the e-mail and download the attached photos to my computer..
I thought we were in the year 2020?
Another thing.. with all apps closed, if I double click a photo icon to view it,
the photos app opens - wait - let me be more precise..
The photos app Tries To Open: The window pops up, however, it hangs and hangs..
I sit and stare at a solid black window while the app struggles to load..
Sometimes if I wait long enough, the app will load the photo into the viewer..
Other times, nothing but the black window until' I close it, and click the photo again..
Usually the 2nd or 3rd time I do that, the photo will open and can be viewed normally.
Unreal..
I can't even begin to wrap my mind around how ridiculous and unacceptable all of this is..
**Sigh**

2020-02-18T21:24:24+00:00 Greg - Obviously this problem has been going on for a while now, yet there is still no fix. Why? Why? Why?
Our phone storage is full, our SD cards are full, and I can not continue with the projects I am working on. We bought an expensive photo scanning machine to transfer old prints to digital and now can't. Am I understanding that my only choice is to completely change operating systems because Microsoft can not correct a simple thing like an App that freezes?
