Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

Hello , i was having this exact issue, and i have seemed to figure a way around it.

So, your iPhone or other device would want to connect automatically to the one drive on the Microsoft account. But what you will want to do is click cancel before it finds all of the files and exit the one drive tab at the bottom of the screen and open your files of your computer.

The one drive had a max storage of 5 GB ( at least on my account ) which was not enough for all of my pictures.

So using your files on your computer is probably a better bet . I just dragged the photo files from my iPhone to the pictures on the computer.

I found kind of a solution that works for me sometimes. Scan your photos and when it frezees, just basically close the application wait for a while and open it and try scaning your photos again and again until it works.

Sometimes after closing the app, go to Windows Settings -> Applications -> scroll down to Microsoft Photos -> click it and click Advanced Settings

Under the Reset there are two options "Repair" and "Reset". Click "Repair" and try importing your photos again.

In my case after 5-7 try it worked.

    My settings

Photos transfer to mac or pc "automatic"

I have over 20000 photos and videos

So after the most recent Windows update aka 'downgrade',

Not only does the Photos App still now work,  and 3 of my wireless keyboards not work,

I just tried linking 2 of my Taotronics wireless transmitters via bluetooth,  and guess what?

Yup..  Those aren't able to connect now either.  **** is going on there at Microsoft?!?!

    This is asinine!!
