Photos app freezes upon import / photo importing problems

Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

    no issue, but thanks for the (another) glimpse of hope. Me and I think many others still have this problem since ever, present over many different devices, not only on iphone.

    maybe its worse when we have big amount of data to be synced and working with less, no idea.

    we all have no clue what it is and no Microsoft Moderator is reacting at all here.. that is REALLY cumbersome..

    my issues already start when I connect my phone,  the photo app starts and the error message says " there went something wrong".  :-)

    I b elieve you are correct but feel Microsoft and Apple need to talk.  This is very frustrating.

    My phone is Samsung and now downloading using W10 with no problems. I think Apple is overpriced.

    For reasons unknown the latest files from my Iphone can now be selected and will transfer to the nominated directory but only using file explorer, however the files on my camera SD card do not select and still freeze, so I need to locate and manually select and transfer the SD card files to a nominated directory. Why is it so hard to fix this problem, file transfers used to work very well but it has gone down the gurgler, and in particular following updates. Why apply an update without checking that it actually is an improvement and reliable.

    For good measure, I am getting the exact same thing when trying to import photos from my Blackberry KeyTwo.  Same hang at the same point (it's just at '1009 items found so far').  Last time I did an upload to my desktop (last week) it was absolutely fine.  Probabaly need to check that now too.

    I was also trying to move the Photos app so that the photos all sat in my OneDrive area, rather than on the hard drive.  When I clicked 'Move' from the Settings/Apps area no go, nada.  Didn't do anything, just ignored me.  I'm going to try a repair, however, bit time consuming...  These things should just work, shouldn't they?
