Hello, I was trying to import photos from my iPhone via charging cable and upon import the photo app freezes. I reset my phone and tried again and it worked for the first import but another problem is that I can only upload 3-4 videos at a time before the photos app says something went wrong and I have to start the whole process all over again. Because of this, when I go to import again it just freezes once it hits my total photo and video count. This problem has been persistent ever since I started uploading photos and videos this past year or two and it really hinders my progress. Thanks for any help.

However, in Windows 10 I found that by plugging in your iPhone first and then opening the folders list and then right-clicking on my phone icon, the drop down list has a choice to import photos and videos. Click on that and follow the prompts. It is Microsoft's new route to transfer photos from your mobile phone.
Upload the new version of Windows 10, 2004 and maybe it will solve your problem, it did for me. Here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

There is a new version of W10, called 2004, and it has solved the Photo app problem for me. No "try again" messages just straight into searching for the photos and then selecting which ones you want to download, just like it used to be.

The installation can take up to 2hrs depending on your computer hardware.

Found a really simple fix to import all videos and pictures from my iPhone by simply going into My PC then right clicking on Apple iPhone under devices and drivers and then clicking import pictures and videos.

This worked fine AND you have the option of deleting after import (which seems to be sporadic on the photo app).
If any errors come up just skip them (that's probably the file that is causing the issue maybe)
If only microsoft had solved this I wouldn't have wasted months trying to get pictures from my iphone...
sad to say this doesn't work for me, from my over 3000 i phone pictures only 40 successfully transferred and then when it came to deleting it dint even swipe the ones that had successfully loaded. I wish we dint have to find ways around this, is this really a lost cause? dont want to have to switch to apple but might have too.
i think my next way will be to see if i can uploaded to my brothers laptop, then save to an external hard drive and then drag and drop to my laptop, not ideal but cant see another way around.
