My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

I tend to believe that your "solution" (workaround?) will work, and just makes me increasingly frustrated that I can't disable my own Samsung's built-in Messages app. Sure, I could root the phone without much problem, but I'm just not sure it's worth it.
Would you mind sharing model Samsung phone you have, and which version of Android?

As an update, I have had a few dupes today, so this has not totally solved it. It had been great for over a day. To @Cutt point, I do notice that when a message takes a long time to be sent, there's a likelihood of a dupe; if the message is sent quickly, no dupes.
Regarding the disabling of the Messages app... no root required. I used ADB. Here's an article link that should provide you directions...

Thanks for the info about how to disable the built-in Samsung apps (without rooting the phone); I'm kicking myself for just assuming that I'd have to root the phone, but that's a whole different story.
On a weird hunch, I changed the Sync method so that it uses Mobile Data (instead of WiFi), and have had no duplicates for (yet) 2 days For those interested in trying it:
From what I can tell, this is a binary setting for how the data syncs: If it's off, then it uses WiFi, and if it's on, it uses mobile data. It looks like different phones allow Bluetooth connection (which is how I found this), but mine doesn't.
NOTE that my built-in Samsung Message app has not yet been disabled.

I enabled the mobile data option, and it worked very well, for a day, then back to dupes. I cleared cache of my texting app, the your phone companion app, and the link to windows service... so far, limited dupes.

Thanks for posting your results. Over the weekend, I found something that seems to be significant: WiFi.
When I enabled the mobile data option, I had my phone's WiFi turned off (which was just to be sure that I was, in fact, using mobile data). And, boom, no dupes. Yay!
Two days ago, I had one duplicate appear, which really vexed me. It vexed me until I realized that I'd kept my phone's WiFi off and -- at the time I had the duplicate -- I'd enabled my phone's WiFi. I immediately turned it off, and haven't had any dupes, since.
As a summary:
(Since 03/17/2020) With the app set to "Sync over mobile data", I've had exactly one duplicate message sent, which was sent while I had my phone's WiFi enabled; with my phone's WiFi off, I haven't had any duplicates.
