Your Phone app shows duplicate sent messages

My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

Windows 10 Pro 1903

Android Pie, standard, non-rooted ROM

'Advisors', please don't ask me to run scannow or complete a repair install...thanks.

    Hey Geo,

    That sounds like a good idea, and I hope it works for you.  I switched from my Samsung's built-in Android messaging app to Google's messaging app, and have been using it as the default; while there was a short period of time when the duplicates stopped, I'm sad to say that they still continue, with (seemingly) no rhyme or reason.

    Either way, please keep us posted -- more info is always better!

    I've been able to resolve this issue on my phone by replacing the default Android "Messages" app, with the Google "Messages" app and setting it as my default messaging app.  (Yeah, it was pretty confusing when installing: "Do you want to replace Messages with Messages?"...)

    So far, I haven't had any problems with duplicated messages since doing this.  

    I'll keep my fingers crossed...

    Hi Geo,

    Thanks for chiming in.  Although not everyone mentions the manufacturer of their mobile device (i.e., phone), it seems that the ones who do are all using Samsung.  If that's the case, then it seems reasonable to assume that it's something with Samsung's customized Android build.

    But, right now, that doesn't really help anyone; all we can do is just work with it as best we can.

    Hi --

    You may be right, and that wasn't something I'd considered, before.  However, you mentioned that Microsoft is being quiet because the problem isn't with their app, and I tend to disagree with that: If they know that they're not at fault, I'd think that they'd happily point the finger at the known issue (i.e., the OS), so that they can stop being blamed for it.

    It's somewhat of a moot point, though; right now, we need to use both the OS and the app, and the only thing we know with certainty is that the problem persists.

    I'm having the same problem seeing duplicate messages using "Your Phone" app on my Windows 10 Lenovo All-in-one desktop and a Samsung Galaxy 7 phone. 

    Ironically, on other conversation threads, I see just the replies from the other person and NONE of the messages I sent! I read a help article that suggested I should uncheck Advanced Messaging to fix this problem..... but that didn't work. :-(
