Your Phone app shows duplicate sent messages

My Your Phone app is duplicating messages sent, sporadically. This has been happening the past few days. Windows and Your Phone apps have been updated. The duplicates are appearing in my Android texting app (Textra) as well. I have used Pulse, Google Messages, and Samsung Flow previously w/o this occurring.

Windows 10 Pro 1903

Android Pie, standard, non-rooted ROM

    Hello,

    Try to reset Your Phone app and see if this resolves the issue. 

    1. Click on Start and select Settings.
    2. Click on Apps.
    3. Under Apps and Features, search for Your Phone app.
    4. Click on Your Phone and select Advanced Options.
    5. Under Apps Permission, make sure Background Apps is enabled.
    6. Scroll down and click on the Reset button.
    7. When asked for confirmation, click Yes.

    Just be sure you save any messages you want to another device before doing above steps, as they will all be wiped.

    Interesting you had no dupes. Not only is my SMS app closed on my phone, I have notifications turned off when I'm at my computer. There is something extremely wrong with their integration.

    For the time-being, I've switched to using Google Messages app and its Web messages. I use my Android-based Tasker app to auto switch texting apps when at my PC.

    So, I had this issue. I wanted to see how quickly the message would send from the computer app. I had messages open on both the computer and phone. When the app is closed on the phone, I don't get duplicates. I guess this isn't like the continuity features on iPhones with other Apple devices since the brands are different. So I'm guessing people with Windows phones don't have this same issue like Android users are having.

    I think they are chipping away at it slowly but surely as evidenced by this. Last time I looked at date it was older.

    After the last windows update and some reboots, the issue is now gone on my machine.  W10x64 (may 15 updated)/S20 Android 10.  

    I hope this is something MS is actually actively working on to improve.  With all the data being "shared" involuntarily, this is one of the main reasons I chose to not lockdown my machine from the snooping, the convenience won out.  If that fails to perform, I have no reason or will to continue sharing or stay logged in to an MS account.  Hopefully the shear number of Pushbullet type users are out there is some incentive for whoever might be working on this.
