[Case Closed; No Solution] Windows 10 keeps failing update to 1903

Hello,

I'm currently running 1803 and every single time I am trying to upgrade to 1903 I got a BSOD with a PFN List Corrupt.

  1. I have tried several method: let Windows Update download and install; Creating a Win10 installation Media in USB
  2. I have more than 43GB of free space.
  3. I've run File System checker, CheckDisk, and any other tool / utility

The other day I change MSConfig and select selective startup to disable other services/programs to load and after rebooting my PC couldn't even find Windows booting to a Boot Manager where only Windows 7 was an option (??????) (My original OS was Win7 but I upgrade to Win10 through Microsoft Upgrade Program) but no trail of Win7 neither. I used a third-party boot utility that fix the boot and I'm again in Win10 that keeps reminding me that I have an old version, that I would not get more updates and I have to upgrade... but the damn update keeps failing after download, reboot, install and after the 2 or 3 reboot in the installation process I got the ERROR.

I need like 2 restarts to see see the message saying is putting all back to previous state and then boot again and still ion ver 1803.

Please advice. I have tried all those canned solutions people post on forums with no difference.

    Well, After getting the new memory set I tried to upgrade again from the SSD with 1083 to 1093 and same result. It goes through all the process. Downloading, Installing, rebooting, updating, BSOD, undoing changes... So I give up. The fresh installation of 1093 on the new 500GB SSD has no issues. Re-installed most used application, connect the other SATA HDD with all my other libraries (some programs still there that I need to maybe re-install under the new OS to run correctly, and I guess I will use the 1083 as backup (it boots and runs perfectly, but it doesn't upgrade) or maybe format and use it as something else.

    So at this point I can say that Windows 10 still has some bugs that neither the OS knows how to handle and this case is solved, resolved, and closed.

    I sent the memory kit back after getting the RMA#. I just wake up PC and mouse pointer was gone. A restart didn't help but it came back after un-plugging and plugging back. Then I read an article and I don't know why in my mouse settings "Hide my pointer while typing" was checked... Not installing everything yet, just basic apps (browsers, MS Office, Steam...) until all memory is back.

    Trying to restart to install updates, clicking the Start button didn't show the menu and the search box disappeared, but reappears when  clicking other systray icon. So I had to right-click Start button to select an "update and restart".

    After rebooting run SFC. At least looks clean for now.

    Looks like you are going to be busy.  Every now and then you might run the SFC again to see if it starts picking up errors.

    When you are satisfied the situation is resolved, are you going to reinstall the old drive and try upgrading it?  There may be some cleaning up on it you would need to do.  If you are happy with the new install, maybe best to stay there.
