[Case Closed; No Solution] Windows 10 keeps failing update to 1903

Hello,

I'm currently running 1803 and every single time I am trying to upgrade to 1903 I got a BSOD with a PFN List Corrupt.

  1. I have tried several method: let Windows Update download and install; Creating a Win10 installation Media in USB
  2. I have more than 43GB of free space.
  3. I've run File System checker, CheckDisk, and any other tool / utility

The other day I change MSConfig and select selective startup to disable other services/programs to load and after rebooting my PC couldn't even find Windows booting to a Boot Manager where only Windows 7 was an option (??????) (My original OS was Win7 but I upgrade to Win10 through Microsoft Upgrade Program) but no trail of Win7 neither. I used a third-party boot utility that fix the boot and I'm again in Win10 that keeps reminding me that I have an old version, that I would not get more updates and I have to upgrade... but the damn update keeps failing after download, reboot, install and after the 2 or 3 reboot in the installation process I got the ERROR.

I need like 2 restarts to see see the message saying is putting all back to previous state and then boot again and still ion ver 1803.

Please advice. I have tried all those canned solutions people post on forums with no difference.

    Going to the basis:

    1. I run MemTest86 individually on every single one of my Four 4GB sticks - Found that one was reporting thousands of error.
    2. Using one of those good known working sticks I tested every memory slot. I am not too confident with one of the banks, so I installed the sticks of the other three.
    3. Boot PC and tested quick opening some apps (Task manager, Chrome, Perfmon) with no issue but again,

    Firefox takes close to 3 minutes to open and hug all resources during all that time (see Picture)

    I am going to do another fresh install with the updated Win10 1909 USB knowing the memory is not the problem.

    Probably memory was the culprit of the 1083 > 1903 upgrade failure and not creating DUMPS.

    Something else you can try is doing a clean boot. This only starts necessary drivers so as to eliminate others that might be causing a problem.  You can follow the link below to verify the procedure.

    Basically, you open msconfig.exe and go to the Services Tab.  Check the box to Hide all Microsoft servicesthen click Disable all.

    Next start the Task Manager and go to the Startup tab and disable any items starting up.

    You can reboot your system.  If it works normally in this configuration, you can start enabling some of the disabled devices to see if one of them causes a problem to return.  I normally do 50% and narrow down the choices from there.  This is also explained on the linked page.

    Have you gotten any more dump files?  

    If you have a secondary video, you might switch to that and remove the other card..  If you don't have onboard video then an option might be an inexpensive card just to test with..

    Windows update just forced a new Nvidia driver on my system today.  

    They released the 1909 build update on Tuesday but it looks like a normal update.  You may want to stop those until you get the problems ironed out.
