Instructions & support for de-installing Windows 10 and re-installing it

Hello,

After lots of good help from several people, we've decided that my Windows 10 is corrupted, and it's causing the following issue:

     - Entering keyboard data into a 3rd party app.  (and even into Microsoft Word sometimes) causes the 1st two characters to be NOT typed into the App.

       and need to be re-typed.

All attempts to fix this have failed.       I have made nightly backups made of all my personal data.

Can someone in the Community send me the precise set of steps I need to follow, to successfully de-install and re-install the O/S ?

And could that same person help me during the process, with any questions or problems I encounter ?

Thank you,

Gary

David - to clarify my previous message.

In File Explorer,  I was at the portal to open up my account of personal data files & folders stored on the Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive.

And I was surprised when the system asked about my privileges, and said i needed Admin.   But would never "complete" to give that to me.

With no access.....I have a disaster.   And when I put the mouse over the file, to see its properties, it said "Empty Folder".    WRONG;  it should have 4GB of data .

Please tell me an easy way around this.     But seeing that super-slow bar graph, after I clicked on "Give me Admin privileges"....and it took approximately forever to still not ever finish.....is pretty upsetting.

This PC was purchased in August 2014, with Windows 7 installed.

It came with Microsoft Office Home & Business 2013

But, in 2015, had a major hardware issue, and via my warranty and Tech. Support contract,  Dell sent a local tech. to my home. He installed a new Motherboard.

I remember he and Microsoft has some kind of product code issue, that they solved it.

    NEW MAJOR ISSUE

I used File  Explorer to TRY TO open up my External Hard Drive, and get to the files, to re-build my Firefox Bookmarks; my personal files for Word, Excel, etc.**;**and my log of radio contacts, along with the various config settings in each of 5 Ham Radio apps.

When I went to open the Gary Smetana account, the system told me that "To get access, I need to have Admin. privileges."  and to get those privileges, I need to click-on the button.  I did that, and an infinitely-slow bar graph ran for 3.5 hours and never completed.  I tried it again; ran it for 1/2 hour, and it barely got 1/5 of the way in the graph.   This is madness.

How do I get access to my files on the 2 TB Ext. Hard Drive ?

Can I call you on the phone ?

Can we do remote PC via Team Viewer ?

    Gary

    Hi Gary

What version of Microsoft Office did you previously have installed on your system?

    Hello DavidM121,

    Success with the Re-Install.

But NO OFFICE HOME EDITION.     What do I do to get it ?

And looks like I'll be busy re-installing all my Ham Radio apps.    That's a non-trivial task.     Then I can operate the Apps. to see if those bizarre issues have been resolved.

I'll also need to download Adobe Acrobat, WinDirStat, and other apps.

Your quick and clear instructions have been excellent, for a good Re-Install.

Please stay close to me, during these next steps.   We may hit some speed bumps....

I can see the Finish Line, but we've still got miles to go before we declare victory.

    Gary

Hi Gary, sorry, I was offline

Yes, I would agree your System is corrupted . . .

You should only delete the 3 partitions on Drive 0

Then, when you have only 1 'Unallocated Space' on Drive 0, select that and click 'Next' to install Windows 10

Yes, you should choose Windows 10 Home . . .
