That's not the problem here.
I still have the original installation files and have run them but it doesn't help.
There is something in 1909 that stops it from working. It's not a case of the update having removed something.

I have just updated to 1903, and have lost all sound. I have a Creative Audigy2 ZS Pro, yes, I know it's old, but it was working perfectly on build 1809.
After this 1903 update, no sound, so I went back to 1809, and hey presto, I got my sound back. I then tried the very latest 1903 build, but lost the sound again. Have MS got an answer? I will have to go back to 1809 if I want to hear anything, but can wait a day or so if anyone at MS can give me a solution.

Hi: I have solved the problem and the Audigy is functioning normally again. Before you read on, this is a specific solution created by an issue with the Creative Game Port. Look in device manager and if you have a category called "Other devices" containing a sub-category called "PCI Input Device" having a yellow alert symbol then this solution may apply. Best practice to capture the steps you take.
Goto: Device Manager -> Other devices -> PCI Input Device
Present: the properties dialogue with a right click on "PCI Input Device".
The Events tab page will probably have an error:
Device ... was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.
On the Driver tab:
Select: Update the driver for this device.
Select: Browse for drivers on your computer. (Not the search for best drivers).
Select: Search for drivers in this location:
Browse to the directory containing Daniel K’s Support Pack having the file "wdma_emu.inf".
On the General tab the Device Status should say: "This device is working properly".
**Dismiss:**the properties dialogue "PCI Input Device" and return to Device Manager.
At this point, Device Manager will refresh automatically causing:
1. "Other Devices" category will disappear (unless you have more devices).
2. In the category "Sound, video and game controllers" a selection for "Creative Game Port" will appear.
Additional Tricks:
1. Run the Troubleshoot function in Settings -> System -> Sound
2. Restart the service "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder".
3. Save your notes then shutdown and cold start your machine.
4. Keep your eyes open and LOL. ****
