When I try to access the Microsoft Store I get Error Code: 0x80131500     CV: 0H5MOZaq8Uye8k8W

I've tried wsreset.exe- no success

I've tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps - no success

I've tried to reset my region, language, and speech - no success

I've deleted the contents of the download directory and the datastore directory in c:\windows\softwaredistribution - no success

Ideas?

Before you go through all of the Ultra-Geeky hassle (and possibly dangerous) methods above, try checking your Internet Security settings as outlined below:

Possible Fix:

Search for "Internet Options"

Open the App

Select the "Advanced" Tab

Scroll to the Bottom of the List where you can see "Use SSL/TLS"

UN-Select SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

SELECT TLS 1.2 and (If Available) TLS 1.3

Click "Apply"

Click "OK"

Reboot Computer

YMMV

Good Luck!

No fix but for me if I connect my phone to wifi, turn mobile data off and then use my phone as a hotspot connecting the pc to the hotspot everything works ok so I'm going that for now.  Maybe that will give a clue as to the problem.

I gave this a try, no joy.

My phone won't let me run a hotspot thru wifi. When enabling the hotspot it turns off its wifi and turns on mobile data. If I try to enable wifi while the hotspot is enabled, it warns me that enabling wifi will disable the hotspot.

Anyway, I ran through the 7-steps from the first page of this thread while connected to my phone's hotspot, and there were no changes in the outcome.

(I'm posting this update through my phone's hotspot, so at least that's working)

Thanks though for the tip, it gave me an excuse to try out my phone's hotspot capability.

You might try changing your DNS Servers. The instructions are available elsewhere in this thread. Several people have suggested using the free Google servers at: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

    YMMV,

    Good Luck.

Thanks, but I had already tried that. I also just now tried pointing at the Cloudflare servers, 1.1.1.1, and 1.0.0.1, and no joy.

In all the jumping through hoops I've done the last 24 hours, I have noticed what may be a clue.

I built this PC myself a couple years ago. It has a Gigabyte Z97X motherboard, i5-4690, 16Gb RAM, etc. etc.

There is a "Gigabyte App Center" running that monitors the MB, updates the BIOS, etc. A few minutes ago I clicked its, "Live Update" button, and it gave me a "no internet connection" error, which is the same error I get from Microsoft Store, and Windows Update. I clearly have an internet connection, so why do these apps claim I don't?

The MB has a built-in Ethernet port, which I have disabled, but I'm wondering if somewhere deep in the bowels of Windows it's trying to get to the internet using that disabled ethernet port?

    Hmmm......

Just guessing on my part, but some folks have reported that certain Windows 10 versions (1809 in particular) need IPv6 to be enabled on their PC's. Of course, your ISP would have to support IPv6 also, but you might try that. I find that if my ISP will occasionally assign an IP address to my router that does not support IPv6.

    Cheers,

      Good Luck
