I've tried wsreset.exe- no success

I've tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps - no success

I've tried to reset my region, language, and speech - no success

I've deleted the contents of the download directory and the datastore directory in c:\windows\softwaredistribution - no success

Before you go through all of the Ultra-Geeky hassle (and possibly dangerous) methods above, try checking your Internet Security settings as outlined below:

Possible Fix:

Search for "Internet Options"

Open the App

Select the "Advanced" Tab

Scroll to the Bottom of the List where you can see "Use SSL/TLS"

UN-Select SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

SELECT TLS 1.2 and (If Available) TLS 1.3

Click "Apply"

Click "OK"

Reboot Computer

YMMV

Good Luck!

I'm having the same issue. I have read and performed every suggestion in the 13 pages of replies (multiple times), and I'm still experiencing the issue.

When I run the Windows Update troubleshooter, it always finds the Background Intelligent Transfer Service off. ("Problem with BITS service : The requested service has already been started. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182.") I have twice followed the instructions for fixing this issue (starting it and setting it to Automatic).

When the MS Store fails to open, I am presented with an option to "Report This Problem". When I click that, and try to switch to the "Feedback Hub", I get a page asking me to "Allow Feedback", with a "Settings" button that takes me to a "Diagnostics and Feedback" page. I have repeatedly enabled all reasonable settings, but still have the problem.

So if anyone has thoughts on additional troubleshooting I can try, I'd like to hear them.

    Thanks,

         Mike

    All,

Before you go all crazy trying all of these super-duper geeky resets from the "Experts" and "MVP's"... Check your SECURITY SETTINGS as listed below.

    Possible Fix for MS Store

    Code: 0x80072F7D

    Code: 0x80131500

    Possible Fix:

    Search for "Internet Options"

    Open "Internet Options"

    Select "Advanced" Tab

Scroll to the Bottom of the List where you can see "Use SSL/TLS"

Clear the Tick Marks in SSl 2.0, SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0

Make Tick Marks in TLS 1.1 and 1.2 If your version of Windows supports it, place a tic mark in TLS 1.3 also.

    Click "Apply"

    Reboot and Test

    YMMV and Good Luck!

Since Microsoft appears to no longer preforms regression testing, some one of their FORCED updates reset your encryption protocols to INSECURE and DEPRECATED antique values. They also seem to have abandoned any semblance of version control, as their FORCED updates keep re-introducing old bugs.
