When I try to access the Microsoft Store I get Error Code: 0x80131500     CV: 0H5MOZaq8Uye8k8W

I've tried wsreset.exe- no success

I've tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps - no success

I've tried to reset my region, language, and speech - no success

I've deleted the contents of the download directory and the datastore directory in c:\windows\softwaredistribution - no success

Ideas?

Before you go through all of the Ultra-Geeky hassle (and possibly dangerous) methods above, try checking your Internet Security settings as outlined below:

Possible Fix:

Search for "Internet Options"

Open the App

Select the "Advanced" Tab

Scroll to the Bottom of the List where you can see "Use SSL/TLS"

UN-Select SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

SELECT TLS 1.2 and (If Available) TLS 1.3

Click "Apply"

Click "OK"

Reboot Computer

YMMV

Good Luck!

Yes, I have seen other posts from your area with the same problem. I think setting the right geographic area covers about 40% of this error code. Glad you were able to get it fixed. Pretty sure this comes down to payment and calculating costs for Store items.

I am using Windows 10 Home.
The Store fails with Code: 0x80131500
I tried the various suggestions to fix this.
Eventually, I discovered the reason was my location was correctly set to Guernsey.
When I lied and changed it to United Kingdom, the Store no longer gives the error.

Guernsey is not in the UK but does used GBP currency and we use English (UK) as our language.

This problem probably also exists for Jersey.

The base of this problem goes back to the earliest versions of Windows 10.  Windows 7 did not have Guernsey as a known location.

This was my fix, I changed my region to United States and now Windows Store worked again immediately. Thanx!
