I suggest you follow the instructions and methods down below to fix your issue.

Solution 1 – Change Windows Update settings

Open the Settings app. You can do that quickly by pressing Windows Key + I shortcut.

When Settings app opens, go to Update & Security section.

Navigate to Advanced options.

Now disable Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows option.

Scroll down and navigate to Delivery Optimization section.

Locate Allow downloads from other PCs option and disable it.

After making these changes, check if the problems with automatic updates are resolved.

Solution 2 – Free up some space

Press Windows Key + S and enter disk cleanup. Choose Disk Cleanup from the list of results.

Select your system drive and click OK.

Disk Cleanup will now scan your drive. This can take a couple of seconds, so don’t interrupt it.

When Disk Cleanup window opens, you’ll see a list of files. Select the files you want to remove and click OK.

Solution 3 – Run Windows Update troubleshooter

Open the Settings app and go to Update & Security section.

Select Troubleshoot from the left pane. Select Windows Update from the list and click Run the troubleshooter button.

The troubleshooter will now start and try to fix the problems automatically. Once the troubleshooter is finished, check if the problem is resolved.

You can reset the Windows Update components.

Right click your start button and select Powershell(admin) or Command Prompt (admin)

Type the following hitting enter after each line.

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

Reboot and try again.

once again slow mo updates am down loading linux mint as i type am sick off these updates every week that make my pc useless and UN workable  bought chrome book the day update took 2 mins windows il say no more and for work am change to apple windows is realy crap now every update take up 2gb off space and the time you clean that crap up had enough by crap windows and cheerio o and good had windows for years will not have for another day save your self hassle just dump it
