Media Creation Tool Error 0x80042405 0xA001B

While dealing with a flaky PC, I thought I'd rebuild my W10 1903 USB install stick. I was careful to document a few things and this is what I did and found.

• Used DISKPART and CLEAN command
• Used Disk Management MSC to create a simple volume
• Formatted QUICK and FAT32 using Properties screen of the drive
• Ran Media Creation Tool from the Desktop while in an Admin account but did not use Run as Administrator
• Chose option to create both 32 and 64 bit installers

The download took longer of course because I chose both. I kept Task Manager open on the Performance tab to track download and disk activity. I also kept File Manager open on the Root drive and the USB to watch the folder creation process. The download portion made it to 100% as did the verification and Creating Windows 10 Media where the ESD folder contents is turned into folders on my Root drive. As soon as the tool tried to copy the files to the USB, my open File Explorer window closed and the tool failed with the error shown in the screenshot below. Since I chose both 32 and 64 bit, this did not happen at the 50% mark but at 66% of Creating Windows media. When I tried to reopen the USB drive, Windows warned me that I needed to format the disk. I did so from the prompt and Windows did a QUICK format using FAT32. Not having the time or patients for another attempt with more suggestions from this thread, I fell back on my cheat of copying the files from ROOT straight to the freshly formatted stick using files shown in the path in the screenshot below.

What I feel is shown here is the CLEAN command did not help nor did the stick being formatted with FAT32. My stick was USB3.0 in a 3.0 socket. My PC has minimal software on it and no 3rd party AV. The stick works fine after I copied the files and folders shown in the screenshot manually to it. I've had the same failure at the same point in the past when I wasn't monitoring anything so it's not because I had TASKMAN or EXPLORER open. The successful completion of the Media Creation Tool seems random.

I posted my last run in with the Media Creation Tool. Running the CLEAN command in DISKPART didn't help. I got the same crash at the same point.

It is?; Regardless, I find it funny and I am sure anyone else would too, that this update, installed flawlessly on my dads laptop... some 15 year old laptop.. and mine is brand new. A brand spanking New Gaming PC, built it myself, it's fine.. but of course the OS is having issues with... ."something". I can only guess so until MS can get this straighten out, I'm not gonna bother, and they are the ones who need to fix this, not me running around trying to figure out any of this, it is their OS. That if anything is the most .. oooo. I absolutely hate that. That here is a product.. that we all bought. Bought into and once again.. here it is.. failing. Sigh. I am sure there are a lot who can agree on how ... Frustrating that can be, it is NOT.. our issue or fault and here is the company doing what?; Nothing?; They have all these codes for what exactly went wrong so that tells me they know exactly what is going on .. other wise that code would not exist.. would it.

So these error codes are telling them what or why their update is not installing and are what, looking into our systems?; For?

Like millions of others, I don't have a DVD-drive.
