Why is Microsoft providing wrong codebase updates for an Intel based cpu machine running Microsoft Windows Professional 10 and acting like a virus?

Microsoft Windows Professional 10 was using a 64 bit intel chip was downloading only AMD64 updates. I am still receiving these in reference to 1809 update and have to reboot into safe mode and remove the contents of the directory every time the delay ticker is met to stop a 16 hour update cycle with a 52% install and the a forced return to the previous version as the update is trying to apply AMD code to my windows installation on an Intel 64bit processor. Does anyone have a hack on this ticker to reset it at startup to zero so the delay stays in force?

    Hi Max

    Don't worry about that being labelled AMD64, that update is still applicable to your PC

    AMD invented and owns the 64bit architecture, so even if your system is Intel based, as long as it is 64bit, that update will be applicable . . .

    Click the link below, then click 'Update Now' on that page to immediately get 1809 and bring your PC right up to date

    If the above link does not result in a successful installation, with these major upgrades, the most successful method is to upgrade from the Windows 10 ISO - you download the ISO and then perform an Offline Upgrade

    to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), then choose ISO

    When the ISO file completes downloading

    Disconnect from the Internet

    Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

    Then, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe to begin the upgrade by choosing 'Upgrade' not install . . .

    I think you might have cracked it Pat  with the CryptoTool disable and the windows\system32\catroot2 folder deletion  inside safemode with the SoftwareDistribution folder contents deleted too  followed by Crypto enable we will have to wait and see fingers crossed. Office still runs so . My insider updates needs attention so if I don't give it any its not going to update yay

    Your current model seems denial . There is a problem with the update servers delivering updates to Windows Professional on an x64-based pc with Intel CPU which leads to wrong code base being sent out to the machine. The Registry keys are not evident here to be the same as Windows Home . Therefore I expect random updates ae being sent out HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\VA should exist on all platforms of Windows to allow for the correct processor update to be checked. The only way I could stop your contant delivery of the wrong code base objects was to have contacted Microsoft regualry since January. The only glitch fix given for this was to cease updates by entering into safe mode disablig crypto services . Removing the windows\SoftwareDistribution folder contents and then removing the system32\catroot2 directory contents. This stopped the services contantly updating as I subscribe to Insider Content which on enabling crypto services  and rebooting  needed attention preventing updates. Surely your delay button should be a permant stop and cease updates an not work on a timer to disable it and force update that does send wrong codebase material repeatedly
