Why is Microsoft providing wrong codebase updates for an Intel based cpu machine running Microsoft Windows Professional 10 and acting like a virus?

To Disable Updates in Windows Pro 10

Firstly open a run dialog Box Press Windows key + R and type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Group editor. Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update. Double Click to enter. This will bring up the Group Policy for Windows Update . The first option here is a disable  radio button select it and save

I am posting this in case you do not have group policy of Windows Professional

*** Note : You must be logged in with an administrator level account.

1. Start by selecting COMPUTER / LOCAL DISK (C:) / WINDOWS / SYSTEM32
2. Scroll down and RIGHT CLICK on WindowsUpdateElevatedInstaller.exe and select PROPERTIES.
3. Select the SECURITY tab and click the ADVANCED button. Click CHANGE on second line next to Owner.
4. In the Object Name Box, type in the USER NAME of your Administrator Account and the click on the CHECK NAMES button. The FULL Admin Account Name should now appear in the box. Highlight the Admin Name and click OK.
5. The OWNER should now be your Admin Account. Close this box and then immediately re-open. In the list box below, double click and select ALLOW ADMINISTRATORS ( your admin account ) and check ALL available permission boxes. Click on OK. Re-highlight ALLOW ADMINISTRATORS in the list box and click on APPLY. Next click OK and OK a second time to return to the SYSTEM32 File List.
6. Right click on WinUpdateElevatedInstaller.exe and select RENAME. Remove the highlight and move cursor to last character before .exe and add an X to the end of the file name. ( ie... WindowsUpdateElevatedInstallerx.exe )
7. Next, scroll down the SYSTEM32 File List to WUAPI.DLL and repeat steps 2 through 6.
8. Scroll to WUAPIHOST.EXE and repeat steps 2 through 6 again.
9. Scroll to WUAUCLT.EXE and once again, repeat steps 2 through 6.
10. Scroll to WUSVR.DLL and once again, repeat steps 2 through 6
11. Scroll to WaaSMedicSvc.dll and once again, repeat steps 2 through 5 ( See Note)
12. Close all open windows and return to desktop.
13. Finally - Select CONTROL PANEL / ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS / SERVICES ..... and RIGHT CLICK on WINDOWS UPDATE. Select STOP and then select PROPERTIES. In the center of the box, select the drop down arrow at the right of the STARTUP TYPE text box and select DISABLED. Hit OK and close all windows to return to desktop. Select START / SHUTDOWN / RESTART and re-boot your computer.
14. Upon rebooting, go back to CONTROL PANEL / ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS / SERVICES ..... Scroll down to Windows Update and verify current status is still DISABLED.

This should give you back control as it follows the other procedure. 

Note:You should be aware this puts a failed to load message in services as WaaSMedicSvc.dll does not like to be took control of as a result it will not let Service Host Local Service Network Restricted run and fails to load for my purposes this is ok**.**

If you have taken ownership of any of these items and want to restore them . Just change the ownership back to NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller for each DLL and EXE you changed as below and remove the X in the filenames:

Right mouse button click on the file and choose Properties.

1. Click Security tab.
2. Click Advanced button.
3. Click Owner tab.
4. Click Edit button.
5. Click Other User or Group and type in NT SERVICE*TrustedInstaller*.
6. Press Ok on all dialogs until all property dialogs are closed.

"Sadly after this I found this afternoon that Microsoft had enabled Updates . I have just stopped this virus Windows Update again after taking ownership of all of the dll. following procedures 1 - 12."

You must be a Microsoft employee? Quite frankly I am disgusted as you are aware that I have not received proper updates since January 2019 . Why would you be sending all these computers the same rubbish. to every computer connected to the internet . your comments are pointless and there are many MIcrosoft customers having probe,ems with these updates who demand Microsoft Act.

If you are as fed up as me with these non working malware updates follow this simple procedure . Please do so at your own risk and ensure you have a good Anti Virus Program and a Firewall. Personally I like and trust Norton:

This seems to disable Microsoft Update if you follow it do it at your own risk . I am doing it to see what it will do and will report back if it works

"Close all open windows and breath a satisfactory "Hell Yeah !" You now have full control of the Windows Update Utility and can now toggle the service back on / off anytime you wish to check for updates or disable the service."

Never stop windows service or disable it for the sake of stopping Windows update it corrupt the other services and module install.

The Windows update does not appear to be the problem as I applied that update long ago and it work perfectly.

The problem your explaining is not about the intel to amd update itself rather that the update wont proceed to install, configure and return to desktop.

Reason for this could be as followed:

1. Already have the update but Microsoft is still pushing out the same update everyday (Just ignore it until it goes away).
2. Previous Windows 10 update was not applied  "(Check which previous update was need and apply it).
3. Activation of account has not been applied (need to fix your account to activate the version of windows)
4. Incorrect software driver in the update it self is not installing due to being blocked by Windows defender folder protection or tamper protection and or the anti-virus software your running. (Turn these off).
5. Device like ram need to be re seated.
6. Drivers for other devices are out of date
7. Adobe products are not up to date
8. Game like Swtor need updating
9. Third party graphic software need updating
10. System corruption caused by back update use (Windows update trouble shooter to see if that correct it.)
11. Clean install is need.

Other than that the update is in the correct format and is what its intend to be for both systems intel and amd.
