Computer Disconnects From Internet randomly

3. Every time I reconnect (I use the Wi-Fi icon menu on the right of the taskbar), the option to auto reconnect is unchecked by default. Sometimes I forget to check it, but it seems to make no difference and it seems regardless I have to disconnect and reconnect to get the connection back. It seems to come back after a while but reconnecting helps to regain connection immediately.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I had another PC which never had this issue, and this is why I believe it's not a router issue, since it's always worked great and never once failed me in such a manner.

Maybe I should also clarify, when the computer disconnects, on the Wi-Fi menu, it still shows 'Connected, Secured', and eventually switches to 'No Internet, Secured', until I reconnect or wait a while as stated above.

There's also no signs of the internet connection getting worse before a disconnect. Amazing speeds, 20-40 ping, and then suddenly complete nothing.

The connect automatically option should stay checked one that option is selected.

Maybe we need to look at the bolded text above.  You may still have a connection to a router but not all the way to the internet.  If that were the case, the Wi-Fi adapter would not know it needed to reset because that would be a function of the router.

If you try to do something like check your email, would the system come back?

1. I unfortunately don't know anything about this.
2. Yeah, it's weird. This can last a while and be fine. The connections appear to be interrupted by me because when the connection randomly drops, the only way to get a connection again, is to click 'Disconnect' and then reconnecting to the connection. If I remain on the connection the internet will not come back until I reconnect it.

4. Nope. The computer disconnects more when I use it, it does much better when I'm not using it. The reason you see such long sessions of no disconnecting during the night is because I don't turn off my PC or put it in sleep, so it stays connected, and as I said since it disconnects more when I use it, usually it stays on all night without issues... except I obviously need to use the internet.

The fact you have one of the Wireless 9560 cards may be involved since it has a shared capability with the processor and/or chipset.  I have no experience running such a configuration.   Do you know if the system is a modern standby system?

Some of your sessions go for 15 hours and look fine.  Others, may go only for minutes but most show the connection was broken because the user wanted to create a new connection.  Only you know what might be happening there.

I see some areas where you are not using an automatic reconnect or even a profile, so you may or may not remember if you are taking any actions during these periods.

You might also look at the times these situations happen.  Could something be happening in your environment causing the connections to be broken or even the lid being closed on the system or it going to sleep.  The overnight sessions seem to do best but late afternoon seems to cause frequent disconnects..

Open an admin command prompt.  Enter the command below and make note of where it is stored.  It is a log and may be hard to understand so you may want to make it available.

The way I check it is to try to find common events when the system is working correctly and when it isn't.  Keeping accurate records of times when events occur will help analyze the events in the log so you can tie the real world occurrences to the log.
