Disable Windows 10 automatic restart after updates

Is there any REAL way to disable this cancer feature?

This is not the first time i have lost unsaved work due to this annoying function, that almost every Windows user hates.

I'm trying to behave, but it is really hard to keep calm after loosing unsaved work multiple times.

Why is it that Windows cannot just wait until the user decides to restart at a convenient time? It's not like the end of the world that users doesn't restart at a specific time.

In a time where Apple's Mac is already "stealing" a lot of Windows customers, it is a very risky (and dumb) feature to add to Windows.

This alone is very difficult to argue against in a Mac vs. Windows discussion.

Luckily (for Microsoft) Microsoft have secured themselves from a law suit in their policy.

MS knows that all Windows users hates this feature, and yet they still have it. WHY?

So back to the question. Is there any official/unofficial way (FOR GOOD)  that allows me to disable this annoying feature?

I tried following some tutorials on YouTube, but little did it help obviously, as i just came home and found my computer restarted, and my work deleted.

    Active hours does not help real users who use a computer to do more than check their email.  Often times I am working on something that takes a week or more to finish.  I will typically have 10+ applications and 40+ browser windows open while doing development work and need them to remain until I wrap up that section of work.  I will have things like multiple Notepad windows open with just scratch notes of code or tasks I need to finish.  They are temporary notes so no need to save them, until Microsoft forces a reboot and costs me a day trying to figure out where things were left off and what I lost.

    Is anyone at Microsoft listening to these hundreds of lost-work stories?  Or are they keeping this protocol in place as a CYA maneuver to prevent blowback from users whose systems get hacked because their security measures weren't kept patched by the periodic updates?

    If the latter, then how about providing a contractual workaround for users who want to accept responsibility for their own systems whereby Microsoft will be held harmless for any loss, damage, or legal liability caused by delaying an update?

    Just a thought.  Are you listening Microsoft?

    They're HEARING - not "listening". After hearing, they work a toothpick in a back molar for a bit, pull it out, inspect it closely and exclaim "fascinating". Kind of like walking right by someone that called you and telling them you're going through a tunnel

    • they're breaking up and hanging up on them right as they yell "HEY!"...

    Be it apathetic indifference or complacent oblivion - you and your precious little work is of no import here.
