Disable Windows 10 automatic restart after updates

Is there any REAL way to disable this cancer feature?

This is not the first time i have lost unsaved work due to this annoying function, that almost every Windows user hates.

I'm trying to behave, but it is really hard to keep calm after loosing unsaved work multiple times.

Why is it that Windows cannot just wait until the user decides to restart at a convenient time? It's not like the end of the world that users doesn't restart at a specific time.

In a time where Apple's Mac is already "stealing" a lot of Windows customers, it is a very risky (and dumb) feature to add to Windows.

This alone is very difficult to argue against in a Mac vs. Windows discussion.

Luckily (for Microsoft) Microsoft have secured themselves from a law suit in their policy.

MS knows that all Windows users hates this feature, and yet they still have it. WHY?

So back to the question. Is there any official/unofficial way (FOR GOOD)  that allows me to disable this annoying feature?

I tried following some tutorials on YouTube, but little did it help obviously, as i just came home and found my computer restarted, and my work deleted.

    The only way I've found to REALLY work, which has actually prevented these unattended restarts, is to disconnect internet physically from the computer when I'm not sitting at it. I make sure that no WiFi can connect automatically and I pull out the ethernet cable. I've done this for months now with stable results (No restarts).

    Last night I had to do a backup transfer to one of my cloud services, so I had to leave internet connected overnight. And wouldn't you know it - Windows found out and restarted during the backup, which corrupted all the files on the cloud service!

    Why was this a design choice you made? How is this user friendly in ANY way? I know companies who've lost MILLIONS because of this, technicians who've lost their jobs because there is no STABLE way to know for sure when or how the system will reboot. The lack of response from Microsoft is just utterly irresponsible.  

    This issue walks hand in hand with the deepthroathing "feature" that is telemetry. When enough people has lost their work, there is no way back from this - and the switch cost will be endlessly low. No wonder Apple can charge premium when people just look for a way to control when they can reboot. SERIOUSLY microsoft, this has to stop, NOW.

    There is ONE way to do this that works. I think I may get in trouble for it, but here it goes.

    There is an option to use 3rd party software to stop the entire update process. I use it for virtual machines that need to be frozen in a certain state, MS's ideas about what I do with my PC be damned.

    Please tell us what you are using.

    Hi  I have Intel NUC and i need this features on it.

    In this folder I have:

    Reboot_AC and Reboot_Battery,

    I don't have only "Reboot"

    Which file I should rename

    Excellent idea, sadly when I try to make changes I get the message that the account I am operating under does not have permission to disable this task.  If you have any ideas to help I would appreciate your thoughts.  I have only my one account which is admin level, I also tried the Run As Administrator option for the task scheduler app.
