Is there any REAL way to disable this cancer feature?
This is not the first time i have lost unsaved work due to this annoying function, that almost every Windows user hates.
I'm trying to behave, but it is really hard to keep calm after loosing unsaved work multiple times.
Why is it that Windows cannot just wait until the user decides to restart at a convenient time? It's not like the end of the world that users doesn't restart at a specific time.
In a time where Apple's Mac is already "stealing" a lot of Windows customers, it is a very risky (and dumb) feature to add to Windows.
This alone is very difficult to argue against in a Mac vs. Windows discussion.
Luckily (for Microsoft) Microsoft have secured themselves from a law suit in their policy.
MS knows that all Windows users hates this feature, and yet they still have it. WHY?
So back to the question. Is there any official/unofficial way (FOR GOOD) that allows me to disable this annoying feature?
I tried following some tutorials on YouTube, but little did it help obviously, as i just came home and found my computer restarted, and my work deleted.

They're HEARING - not "listening". After hearing, they work a toothpick in a back molar for a bit, pull it out, inspect it closely and exclaim "fascinating". Kind of like walking right by someone that called you and telling them you're going through a tunnel

- What update is it? Only updates like the cumulative ones and cumulative.net... requires a restart. Plus, it will only ask for a restart after the update (cumulative) is done downloading and finished installing. Actually, after restarting, then it will counts as a successful install. Normally, Windows will not ask for a restart, or automatically restart, never heard off automatically restart unless it pertains to that update. I never have that issue before.
Do you see the problem here? It's the lack of control that I am frustrated with.
Correct in that a lot of software do act this way, but it seems like you're insinuating that it must be done this way and that is not true. some updates require a restart to be applied or processed because the software being updated must not be in use, which is fine, but why isn't there the ability to have it restart at the time of our choosing? I'm a software developer and this really drives me nuts about Windows. Someone said something later in this thread that rings perfectly true. This is something Apple would do, which is why I hate them. Give me my options and don't force me to do things I don't want to do.

Hey guys - seriously: Is it possible that the most used PC operating system needs such kind of stupid scripting / tricking / behind the scenes working - in order to get this thing working in a reasonable and professional way?
Yes - the new instructions of the month! Until Microsoft goes and finds another trick to avoid also this one. Imagine: there are options for doing the right thing already, but Microsoft decided to override them! But users may go and check the right things
Sorry, but I cannot take this seriously. I am not an more angry or disappointed, I simply laugh about this kind of things by now... I simply know that everything can take a couple of days longer because of such things. So if time matters, don't do it on the Windows system. But of course I have to build, package and deploy my software on Windows of course because that is what customers want nowadays (still??). But for serious working - just forget it!
When I attempt to save the changes in Step # 7, I get a pop-up box titled "Task Scheduler", which asks for an username and password. The problem is that my username is not among the list of users, yet I am the only user of this computer, and I am an authorized Administrator for the PC. Additionally, none of the listed "users" are actually authorized accounts for this computer.
Furthermore, I have been unable to find any way to give my user account permission to save the new file location.
Your help on this would be greatly appreciated.
