KB4493509 fails to install

Hello everyone,

this is the first update since upgrade to 1809 that fails to install. I tried everything. Manual downloading, but even manual installing at the end just shows message, that the update couldn't be installed, without any errors. At Windows Update, it's shown an error 0x800f0982. I've done sfc /scannow, no corrupted files. I've done Restorehealth etc, and the error is still there. This is the first time that has happened to me. So should I wait for next update? Or what to do?

    But I think you've done some of them already, & not all of them are all that quick.

    QF#2 took 12+ hours the first time I ever ran it, subsequent runs were just 3.5 hours, though.

    For QF#8, what is your computer & model number, as seen in MSInfo32 (ask Cortana)? BING it for its site. Check driver versions there against what is seen in Device Manager. If greater at the site, first try to get it through Device Manager (search automatically). If that fails to get it, take it from the site. BIOS version is also in MSInfo32.

    Yeah..I am really close to reset whole Windows, because this is really annoying. I have now 2 updates which fall for same error and fails to install.

    Darn. Sorry it didn't work for you. I was about to try it on a friends computer which is having the same problem but now I may look for another alternative. Annoying when people are prompted for it and it just fails over and over again. Maybe Microsoft will fix it when this months updates come out which I think is on Tuesday.

    Hey,

    the solution you suggested didn't work. Even now the next update KB4495667 fails to install in the same way, and pops the same error (0x800f0982). So now I really gave up, because I tried everything. So I am going to wait for the next upgrade (1903) which comes at the end of May I guess, and I am hoping that I will upgrade it with no problems and errors.

    yeah I am the same, but I gave up about this update, cause nothing worked, literally nothing. So I hope this will now, if it won't I will just wait for 1903 and then upgrade the whole system.
