VPN not working on Windows 10 1903

I am an IT technician at an IT company. One of our clients has asked us to install a fresh version of Windows onto 6 of their PCs.

These PC's are old PC's that they do not use - meaning that they have had a fresh version of Windows installed onto them. This has been upgraded to 1903. I have attempted to setup a VPN connection in order to connect the PC's to the company's domain. When doing so, the VPN connection just hangs on 'Connecting to vpn'

I know 1903 is still very new into the world, but wondering if anyone knows how this issue can be resolved?

    This is a joke that this is STILL a problem. I understand that some people are comfortable with a workaround but for business/enterprise, workarounds are not acceptable. I need the interface to work as intended. Are we still at a place where we can't use the VPN connection icon from the tray?

    I don't want a solution to use a different method, I don't want to use some homebrew application, I don't want to have to direct the user to dig into menus just to connect to their VPN. I need a viable, repeatable SOLUTION to this problem. How are enterprise admins/IT staff doing this in large organizations?

    Yup, 1903 is a joke. ICC profiles don't work right, VPN doesn't work except randomly, and many more enterprise functions that are half-cooked. Might be fine for consumers who don't use their computers for anything useful, but not ready for any kind of deployment in a business/enterprise/actual usage enivronment!

    Roll back Windows 10 to 1803 or 1809....PPTP and L2TP Build VPN Clientsdon't work with 1903 update.   Not sure what to do when Microsoft will forcefully push 1903 update. Best regards

    I tried it.  It worked for a while.  Then my cable modem crashed and VPN connection went down.  Then it wouldn't work anymore.  I tried removing and rebuilding and everything else.  It doesn't work anymore.

    This is pathetic.  I can't believe Microsoft doesn't do basic QA and puts such garbage software out in an "update."

    Does anyone have any other ideas?  I'd downgrade to 1803, but of course that version is not available for download on Microsoft website.

    we had this on 1903 with Always on VPN

    one of the team found the issue - Allow Telemetry. 

    disable this in group policy makes it work fine..

    testing on 2 laptops fine. will build a 3rd to double check. so far so good.

    (using an Always on VPN with machine certs and automatically detecting and connecting - no clicking on the VPN buttons)
