Windows 10 v1903 - ntoskrnl.exe & ISR/DPC latency spikes

Hi,

After updating to 1903 LatencyMon associates ntoskrnl.exe with large latency spikes on the order of ~1,300µs. Same results with KB4497935.

I posted here too as I thought it could be related to the GPU driver:

Others are also reporting similar symptoms. E.g. in some instances this results in noticeable audio clicks/pops.

Are you seeing similar results?

Does anyone at Microsoft acknowledge this?

It should be easily reproducible.

SOLUTION:

KB4505903 seems to have significantly mitigated the ntoskrnl.exe latency spikes for many users.

    Indirectly I am. but they are stutters that are caused by the high latency audio popping and clicking. it just doesn't pop and click, it stutters anything that is using the audio. I notice the problem gets worse when I am doing anything streaming heavily and it alleviates a lot when i disable the network driver completely.. which is the only way I am able to do music nowadays

    Thanks for that.It seems that MS,driver vendors and computer manufacturers are not on the same page with 1903.This why 1903 is a nightmare to troubleshoot.

    that is escentialy the same lag spike. the dxgkrnl.sys is the graphics system making a hardware interupt request to the ntoskrnl.exe. im having this same issue using an NVIDIA 1070 gtx. one sugestion was to dissable all of the sound devices on the cards. i do not knownif this makes a difference. i havnt tested it yet. reinstalling drivers didn't help.

    I have found A work around for the ntoskrnl.exe latency issue.

    Moving your page file off of you system drive to a separate SSD i have achieved a complete reduction in latency spikes that result in Audio stutter in DAWs. Mind you an HHD will not work it has to be an SSD, and your system drive page file has to be disabled or multi access I/O will not function properly and will choke on system access to page file access. 

    So far i have only determined this with work with the dxgkrnl.sys Spike which is a latency spike with cause by NVIDIA graphics card hardware interrupt requests.
