[DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE][Asus Vivobook S15 S510UN]Constant BSOD Windows 10[version: 1809]

I just want to give a quick update on 1903.

I am using 1903 from last 1 month on Asus Vivobook S15, and i have to say that it is working damn good without any issues till now and even i have been playing games like cities skylines, CS GO without a single BSOD.

Currently i am on version 1903 and build 18362.295.

So if anybody who have some spare time or who wants try out something new for the weekend( and also who knows how to revert back to old version if something goes wrong), please try installing the 1903.

Followings are the experience that i had while updating to 1903:

1. Updated to 1903 and i had BSOD as similar to 1809.
2. Tried updating Nvidia drivers from Nvidia website and Asus website, again no luck.
3. So came back Latest Nvidia driver available in Asus website.( BSOD was still present even with OEM drivers)
4. Finally i thought of reverting back to old version of windows using recovery option in setting. But windows pop up came suggesting to try new cumulative update.
5. So I gave it a shot and updated to build 18362.295.

And YESSSS! Finally i got a working machine with no Nvidia driver issue that was causing BSOD.[No single BSOD till date]

If possible please try installing 1903 and share your feedback.

Which version of intel and nvidia drivers are you using now?

Not a solution, but beside from disabling the graphics card, you might be able to get pretty stable system by stopping Windows from installing new drivers via Windows Update. Have a look here:

For the next step you have to remove the Nvidia Driver completely. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I used a tool called DDU to do so.

After the driver is gone, get the newest one from your notebook's support page on asus.com. Unfortunately using this outdated driver might cause a new bluescreen called IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

The problems are probably caused by the fact that Asus installed a **** version of Nvidia's mx150 in our machines. Apparently there is a 25W TDP version and a smaller 10W TDP version of the graphics chip and at least my notebook has the later one. Therefore Asus has to compile a special version of the graphics driver for the notebooks, which means we will always have an outdated version.

The whole trouble probably began with Microsoft removing most of the power / energy settings with Windows 1809. So now there are now three companies involved in our problem.

Last info: I contacted Asus, but they haven't responded yet.

EDIT: Using ASUS's driver and disabling the Windows Driver Updates does not help. Just got POWER_DRIVER... bluescreen again.

I checked my nvidia graphic card ID which is 10DE 1D10 which stands for the higher version of MX 150 (25W TDP), But I am facing this issue too.

But how can we have different versions of MX 150 ? My notebook model is X510UNR. What about yours?
