How to stop Yourphone.exe process in Windows 10?

I have noticed that … Yourphone.exe … is running all the time.

Can this app be stopped from starting and if so … How do you stop it? ...

Hi Kenneth

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Privacy - Background Apps

From there you should be able to stop the Your Phone App and other Apps form running in the background of Windows 10

    As some users have reported, simply disabling the app under 'Privacy->Background Apps' doesn't always work.

    Unless you are using an ANDROID phone, this app is useless bloat and can be REMOVED, not just turned off.  To REMOVE YOURPHONE from your PC, open a PowerShell (As Admin), and type the following command:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.YourPhone -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage

    If you later decide that you actually want this app, just visit the Microsoft Store and search for "Your Phone".

    Actually, we have Windows phones, and they have always synced up with the PC. This app is installed for people with Android phones - I guess they couldn't be expected to go to the Windows Store and search.

    Android phones (e.g. Nexus, Pixel) sync with Google stuff, unless you've got something pre-bloated like Samsung. Have never felt the need to sync with my Widows PC.

    I tried using the Windows Store at the weekend, to get a free app for reading Minidump files on a friend's PC that was having problems. It was incredibly difficult to use! Put me off using the Store for life, not that I'd ever used it before.

    @LegacyOfHerot - I think it has more to do with Microsoft being a "control freak".  Case and point - have you tried to uninstall Skype recently?  It can be done, but unless there have been some serious changes recently, it isn't easy nor is it achievable by the average user.  I know of maybe 3 people that use it, but everyone gets it preinstalled (and executed), like it or not. 

    Same too here with YourPhone.  Why must I have to scour the internet and become familiar with specialized PowerShell commands just to remove a program I never wanted, needed, nor asked for that is consuming MY resources.  So thank you Microsoft yet again for pushing the **** you like down my throat (because as you intimated LegacyOfHerot, we're too stupid to figure it out on our own). 

    And not for nothing, but if I wanted to use the command-line (err, sorry, "Power-Shell"!) to manage my OS, I'd use Linux which was actually DESIGNED to work that way, not retrofitted in to back-fill some deficiency in your software.
