You Phone/Companion Connection-Link

No luck either. Only reason I wanted to try this was because I also use Ubuntu & was impressed with being able to work with phone notifications on the pc - shows notifications for any app that has them & can reply on the computer. Also liked that it pauses Spotify when a call comes in. Took about 2 minutes to set up. Only required one app on the phone and one on the computer. MS should try to get it to work as smoothly.

I have a similar issue but I am not using a hotspot.

I cannot connect the PC to my phone. I have tried every troubleshooting guide that I could find on the internet, including the one available in the "Your Phone" Windows app with no success. It seems like many users are reporting similar connection issues in the app review on Google Play but the developers' email does not work (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***).

The PC app correctly sends the request to the phone and the phone correctly displays the notification but it is not possible to click the "ALLOW" or the "DON'T ALLOW" button in the notification received on the phone. It does nothing.

If I click the Allow button from the Your Phone Companion Android app, it goes to the "You're all set" window and when I click "Done" it goes back to the "Get started" window.

The Windows application times out after a while and goes back to the "Check your phone" windows with a button "Resend notification".

My PC and Samsung Galaxy S7 were working beautifully together until a recent Windows update. I could easily send and receive texts from "Your Phone" app on my PC. The update killed the connection and now I am stuck on the endless verification loop. I've gone through all the un-linking and re-linking instructions on Microsoft's website (multiple times). Whatever this Windows update did has killed the connection between the two previously linked devices. I just wish Microsoft would take texting seriously. I never have stupid problems like this with my Mac/iPhone/iPad. I use my Mac for work and my HP Omen gaming notebook PC for play. I hate the way Windows updates often kill perfectly working features. Please fix this Microsoft.

I updated to the new (dangerous) Windows 1809 update and the phone started working again. I might lose data, but I have a working text system through my Android now.

A solution that worked for me was selecting use a different user and reentered same username and password.

1. I had change password long ago and the app used previous credentials to connect.
2. I use 2step verification.

There should be an option when changing passwords to unlink you from everywhere. The app should have asked for

proper credentials when changed password, but it didn't and suddenly stopped connecting!!

Update: It works for me now. I cleared the data on Android and unlinked the phone from Windows, uninstalled on both platforms and started the process of connecting them again through the Windows Your Phone app and it worked! Both the Android app and Windows were updated since my last attempt so I am not sure what fixed the problem but it works now!

EDITED: It works only half the time. I did as DavidGill2 suggested and installed Pushbullet and it works like a charm!
